Conflicting Chemistry: When Alcohol Disrupts the Peace of Recovery

Lately, I’ve been feeling like I’m losing my mind and going insane, acting out in ways I shouldn’t due to alcohol consumption, driven by my frustration and poor psychological state. Alcohol has been affecting me negatively because my mood and mental state are already down. If I were doing well, alcohol would have brought me joy, pleasure, and happiness, as it usually does.

I have been strictly adhering to my medication for the past three months, but I have a strong feeling that the medication is interacting negatively with my drinking. I have recovered significantly; my schizophrenia symptoms have faded, my mood has become good and stable, and I enjoy a sense of calm, feeling almost entirely symptom-free. I now sleep in complete peace, without the slightest hint of anxiety.

As for alcohol, it never used to affect me like this before. I never experienced this kind of turmoil or behavior during my many comprehensive treatment programs over the years. This isn’t the first time I’ve been on a structured treatment plan; I have undergone consistent treatment at various stages of my life while continuing to drink alcohol, and things always remained stable.

Something is happening now that completely contradicts my usual routine with alcohol. I feel as though an evil eye is fixated on me, trying to cause me harm. The situation does not feel normal; it feels as if a concentrated negative energy is targeting my mind, aiming to bring me down. I am trying to resist this evil energy, maintain my stability, and refrain from acting out as this sinister spirit compels me to do.
