‘Only Cleo was left, waiting alone’: Cat lovers go to a wedding and come home with an abandoned mama cat, giving the sweet girl the furever home she deserves

Most people come home from a wedding with a few cute pictures, maybe a party favor, and a serious need for a nap. These cat lovers came home with Cleo.

The Cat Distribution System clearly doesn’t care whether you’re dressed for a rescue mission. When they found this sweet mama cat, she’d been abandoned with a litter of kittens and was doing her best to keep her tiny family going. Naturally, there was no way they could just walk away. They grabbed food and supplies and came back the next day ready to help the whole crew.

But when they returned, the kittens were gone. Only Cleo remained.

We can only imagine how heartbreaking that must have been, especially after seeing her working so hard to care for her babies. But if there was one thing they could do, it was make sure Cleo never had to worry about surviving on her own again. So, congratulations to the happy couple, but we’d argue Cleo scored the biggest happily ever after that weekend.

She’s since gone from struggling mama to spoiled house cat, which is exactly the career change we like to see. Her new humans say she’s already become the “undisputed queen of our hearts,” so clearly Cleo understood the assignment. Find humans, move in, take over entire household. Classic cat.

There’s just one little bit of paperwork standing between Cleo and her next adventure. Her humans are currently living outside their home country, so they’re getting her vaccinated, microchipped, and even securing her very own passport so she can eventually travel home with them. Somewhere, their other cat Kenzo has absolutely no idea that a new roommate is coming.

Forget catching the bouquet. Coming home from a wedding with a cat might be the real prize.
