Gift-giving in Fire Emblem games is a core staple, letting party members connect and giving tangible perks. While Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave removes the romantic aspect of support levels, it doesn’t change the fact that boosting support levels is vital for recruiting new roster members and boosting stats for allies standing next to each other in combat.
Where things get tricky with Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave is deciding which gift to give and when the best time is to do so. How to increase support levels in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave
Talking to an NPC with a name above their head is usually a good indication that you can recruit them if you’re persistent enough. You can only give one item to any character (recruited or not) once a week, so you need to choose carefully. You can tell how well an item works in increasing your support level by the prompt you receive:
- “They really liked it”, with two yellow arrows on-screen – double the amount of points they would gain for a big support item. (This is their favorite gift)
- “They really liked it” – big support gained.
- “They liked it” – a moderate amount of support gained.
- “They kind of like it” – a small amount of support gained.
- “They don’t like it” – no support gained.
In addition, you can also increase a non-party member character’s support link by inviting them to eat meals as a guest. You will always have access to the menu ahead of time, and by looking at a character’s likes, you may get an idea of what food is their favorite. If their name has two stars in gold, it’s a good chance they’ll love the dish. You can invite them up to the number of available dishes per week, though it’s possible they might not like what’s on the menu at all, so have some backup choices to get the most out of your culinary social networking.
Once an ally enters your service, you can also increase support levels a smidge by attacking or healing next to another party member, inviting them to dinner, training with them in the arena, and many more.

Each gift is part of one of the many item types. Generally speaking, if a character likes one item from the class of items, they’ll like everything. There are some exceptions, like those who love getting Horse Care products, but not specifically the Mane Ornament because they ride an Ornius instead of a horse. How to increase the support Level with the protagonist
There are many different questions per character, too many to list here, so instead we’ll give you a tip on how you should be answering these questions: know the character’s vibe before going in. For example, for each of the Flame Lords, Cai is a rather innocent fellow, but he is also quite modest, so overacting won’t boost your support level.
The other Flame Lords need different mindsets to get their approval. Dietrich would rather you act as a like-minded rival who understands the beauty of the world; Theodora wants you to embrace her nostalgia and reassure her that her desires are the same as the will of the kingdom she rules; and Leda wants you to share in her experiences and be a good friend. Your protagonist can also vibe with other party members and bequeath the same benefits, so learn their personalities by reading their character bio so you work out which answers are best for them.
