Husband falls down the stairs in the middle of the night, and wife completely forgets his name when she goes to help him out: “MUM! Wait, what?’

Oh, the things we do when we’re sleep-deprived…

Misplacing things, forgetting to pick up the children at school, leaving the stove on, and forgetting people’s names are just a few of the many things we can do when we’re tired and haven’t slept well. Heck, I forget people’s names even when I sleep well. I swear, I see someone I know, and my mind goes like: “I know that person’s face,” but the part of my brain that stashes the names goes completely blank, and I end up going like: “Hey, you! How are you?” It’s embarrassing at this point, but there’s nothing I can do about it. At least it provides me with a handful of funny stories to tell my friends. After all, I’m great at embarrassing myself in front of others, so why stop now? 

Well, in this case, this woman definitely won first place in the competition of saying silly things when sleep-deprived. And she most certainly beat me at forgetting people’s names. She and her husband had a new baby, and she was not sleeping very well. Her husband got up to go to work in the early morning and ended up falling down the stairs. She woke up from the noise, went to try to help him, and instead of calling him by his name, she called him “Mum” THREE TIMES in a row. Poor thing, she was tired.

Luckily, the internet knows exactly what she’s going through, and everyone was very supportive of her story. They even shared experiences of their own, so it goes to show that we all get a little silly when we are tired. Remember, people: a good night’s sleep goes a really long way.
