I do not know the source of this sensation, especially given that I have been taking my psychiatric medications regularly for nearly three months. This feeling seems to stem from schizophrenia, or perhaps from anxiety, stress, and dark thoughts, among other exhausting schizophrenic symptoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Coughing also releases that sensation\u2014I feel a desire to cough, and it tends to surface with any trigger that induces stress or anxiety. Regardless, the psychiatric medications I strictly adhere to relieve this feeling. Alcohol completely masks any trace of &#8220;infection&#8221; for as long as the intoxication lasts. I feel sensitive toward others when they cough or blow their noses; however, I do not feel this sensitivity toward those same individuals if they have the flu. My sensitivity is purely to the psychological act itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I feel that my frequent coughing might annoy others, but this appears to be untrue, as they do not seem bothered. In any case, it is evident that this is a disturbance in natural affect resulting from schizophrenia; the normal emotions that a healthy person experiences are disrupted in my case. Three months ago, prior to starting the medication, I could not smell things well.
