Since 2018, <a href=\"https:\/\/collectiveretreats.com\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\">Collective Retreats<\/a> has offered an even closer option: a seasonal six-acre glamping site on Governors Island, just eight minutes by ferry from Lower Manhattan. The standout feature, though, is the patinated cast-iron tub, plumbed with on-site hot water and angled toward sunset views over the harbor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of my favorite found objects is the French cast-iron tub,\u201d Porter says. \u201cAn antique tub like this can typically cost around $11,000, but we found one for $400 that was just sitting in a Connecticut mansion\u2019s yard. It weighs about 500 pounds and has this naturally rusted patina on the exterior with white porcelain inside. In 2020, the two companies opened <a href=\"https:\/\/www.urbancowboy.com\/catskills\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\">Urban Cowboy Lodge in the Catskills<\/a>, which has been an upstate go-to ever since.<\/p>\n<p>With the newest location, <span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.13px;\">Porter positions Urban Cowboy\u2019s maximalist aesthetic as an enveloping, tactile alternative to screen time. \u201cAn authentic Urban Cowboy experience is \u2026 meant to be transportive,\u201d he says.
