It\u2019s a dessert martini that leans toward the\u00a0sweet\u00a0side but unlike some dessert martinis, like <a href=\"https:\/\/abeautifulmess.com\/birthday-cake-martini\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/abeautifulmess.com\/birthday-cake-martini\/\">Birthday Cake Martini<\/a>, it\u2019s not creamy. I\u2019ll share my\u00a0Appletini\u00a0recipe\u00a0along with ways to change it up to suit your\u00a0taste.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While I usually make this recipe with vodka, you could swap it for gin for a slightly more floral, and more classic martini variation. They also make Apple Schnapps in red if you prefer a red appletini.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lemon Juice<\/strong> \u2013 Freshly squeezed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Optional Garnish<\/strong> \u2013 We like to use a slice of Granny Smith apple as an optional garnish.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You\u2019ll see in the photo below I used a sparkling apple juice for the Appletinis pictured here, but this is not necessary. Then add ice. Shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker feels very cold against your hand. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stain into a chilled martini glass. You could also use an apple cider for this recipe. <\/li>\n<li>Store clean martini glasses in your freezer and you\u2019ll always have a chilled glass ready for when you need it. <\/li>\n<li>If you don\u2019t have a <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3FeBc1f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\">cocktail shaker<\/a>, a mason jar with a lid will also work. The owner, Loren \u201cLola\u201d Dunsworth, was approached by reps from Ketel One vodka to create a signature martini. She noticed an unused bottle of apple schnapps and asked bartender Adam Karsten to mix up a drink.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In pop culture, the Appletini was the drink Zach Braff\u2019s character ordered on <em>Scrubs<\/em>. It was also the drink of choice for Mark Zuckerberg and Sean Parker\u2019s meeting in <em>The Social Network <\/em>movie.
