New Apple CEO John Ternus and his predecessor Tim Cook have both taken to X to describe the inspiration that Steve Jobs was to them.

It has been an annual tradition for Tim Cook to post on X about Steve Jobs on this anniversary date, and he’s now been joined for the first time by John Ternus. Cook has long been known as a personal friend of Jobs, but Ternus was at Apple for the man’s last ten years.

Yet it’s Ternus’s tribute that is perhaps the more personal as he describes the impact Jobs had on him and everybody at Apple. “The way Steve taught us to care about every detail, every experience, every person, still guides our work today,” he wrote. “Forever grateful.”
